Is a balanced viewpoint presented here? | 0 | 12:03, 28 May 2014 |
I was entirely unaware of this case before reading Mark's additions here, but I wonder if a balanced viewpoint is being presented.
Chevron's official website on the Ecuador lawsuit has a few statements that are directly opposed to some of the commentary within this case. For instance, they maintain that Texaco held a minority partnership in the oil-production consortium.
Given my lack of knowledge on this case, I specifically don't want to make any statement that would promote one viewpoint over another, but there are published "facts" from different sources that are in direct opposition to each other, that are directly relevant to this case, I would like to see a greater variety of sources and presentation of the evidence for/against these factual claims (not to mention the various claims of fraud within the legal action).
Have you found additional sources that might be helpful? Can you provide some suggestions for next steps to present a case that addresses the controversy within the lawsuits (disputed facts, claims of fraud, etc)?
Thanks,
