The bilateral commission was established 1955 and is based upon the Canadian-U.S. Convention on Great Lakes Fisheries. It covers the St. Lawrence River and includes Canada and the United States.

Secretariat

Functions of the secretariat include: and Secretariat serves as the primary interface between the Commission and those with whom the Commission interacts, directs program and business management efforts, and provides decision support on a wide range of issues.[1]
