Middle East Desalination Research Center (MEDRC) was established in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman in December of 1996 to conduct, facilitate, promote, coordinate and support basic and applied research in water desalination to reduce the cost of desalination and improve the quality (see www.medrc.org).[1]
